UFC Vegas 22: Kiwi Brad Riddell's fight v Gregor Gillespie called off

Kiwi UFC fighter Brad Riddell has had his UFC Vegas 22 bout against Gregor Gillespie called off due to Covid-19 protocols.
The 29-year-old lightweight from Christchurch was set to be featuring on his biggest stage yet, in the co-main event on Sunday (NZ time), however his fight was pulled from the card just hours before the show.

UFC officials didnt announce any further details about the cancellation, but said the plan is to rebook the bout for the coming weeks.

Riddell, who has a 9-1 record and is unbeaten in three UFC fights, was hoping to join City Kickboxing team-mate Dan Hooker in the top-15 rankings, against the 15th-ranked 34-year-old American Gillespie (13-1), who was returning to action after the first loss of his career, in November 2019.

The Vegas event was to continue with 10 fights, with the Song Kenan v Max Griffin welterweight contest to move into the co-main spot.
