Police helicopter joins beach search for man missing in West Auckland

The search for a man who went missing at the weekend in West Auckland is entering day three, with police having serious concerns for his safety.
Geoffrey Greenfield, 48, was reported missing on Friday evening, when it was believed he was on foot in the West Auckland beach areas of Huia and Whatip.

A number of enquiries have been made following information reported by members of the public, a police spokesperson said.

The police Eagle helicopter has been called in to conduct a number of searches over the area.
