One arrested as police descend on Palmerston North home

Police have descended on a home in Palmerston North after suspicious activity was reported on Wednesday morning.
More than five patrol cars rushed to a home on the corner of Grey St and Ruahine St just after 6am after suspicious activity was reported, a police media spokeswoman said.

One man was arrested and had been taken back to Palmerston North Central Police Station for questioning.

Officers at the scene were inspecting a car and the home as rush hour traffic, almost in a stand still, watched on.

Wearing gloves, officers looked through a Mazda parked in the front yard of the home as others went through the house.
