Invercargill house fire treated as suspicious

A blaze that destroyed half of a house in Invercargill in the early hours of Sunday morning is being treated as suspicious.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said the house was fully involved when fire crews arrived at Bruce Street at 12.20am, and a second alarm was raised for back-up.

Five trucks were used to fight the blaze in total, and crews were at the scene until about 2.30am, he said.

No-one was injured in the fire.
